Water Tracker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Water Tracker helps you log how much water you drink and reminds you through the day. It has no account, no sign-in, and no server. Every glass you log stays on your phone. This policy explains exactly what the app stores, what it asks permission for, and how advertising works inside it.

1. Overview

Water Tracker ("the App", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. The App does not require an account, sign-in, email address, or phone number to use. We do not operate a backend or a user database, and we have no way to see anything you enter. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. What the App Stores on Your Device

All of the following is written to your device's local app storage and is never uploaded to us or to any server we operate.

  • Your drink log: the amount and time of each glass you record, kept for roughly the last year so charts and streaks work.
  • Your daily goal, your glass size, and your reminder schedule and active hours.
  • App preferences such as your chosen theme.
  • Badges and levels you have unlocked, and how many optional ads you have chosen to watch.

You can erase all of it at any time using "Reset history" in the App's Settings, by clearing the App's storage from your device settings, or by uninstalling the App.

3. The Details You Enter at Setup

When you first open the App it asks for a name, gender, height and weight. This is used for one purpose: calculating a starting daily water goal that suits your body , plus showing your BMI back to you.

These details are stored only on your device, alongside everything else in Section 2. Specifically:

  • The name is used only to greet you on the home screen. You can leave it blank.
  • Gender is used only to pick a millilitres-per-kilogram rate for the goal calculation.
  • Height and weight are used to calculate your goal and your BMI. Nothing else reads them.
  • None of it is transmitted, sold, shared, or used for advertising targeting.

Water Tracker is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The suggested goal is a general guideline based on body weight. Talk to a doctor about your own hydration needs, particularly if you have a kidney, heart, or liver condition.

4. We Do Not Collect Personal Data

Water Tracker does not collect your email address, contact list, location, photos, messages, or browsing history. We have no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting service. The only information that leaves your device is the limited, non-personal device information used by our advertising partner, described in Section 7 below.

5. Notifications & Reminders

Reminders are scheduled by your device's own operating system, not sent from a server. We have no push infrastructure and could not message you if we wanted to.

The App asks for notification permission so it can remind you to drink during the active hours you choose. You can decline, and you can turn reminders off at any time in Settings or in your device's notification settings. Declining does not limit any other feature.

6. Sharing Badges & the App

Share images are drawn on your device and handed to your system share sheet. They are never uploaded to us.

When you tap Share on a badge, the App creates an image on your device containing your badge, your total amount drunk, your streak, and your days on goal, then passes it to the app you pick. Sharing is entirely your choice, you see the image before it goes anywhere, and whatever you share is then governed by the privacy policy of the app you shared it into. A temporary copy of the image is written to the App's cache folder and is cleared by your device in the normal course of cache cleanup.

7. Advertising

Water Tracker is free and supported by ads. Ads cover the cost of development so the App can stay free, with no subscription.

Ads are served by Google AdMob, a service provided by Google LLC. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process limited information from your device, which can include:

  • An advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID), which you can reset or delete at any time
  • IP address, and an approximate, non-precise location derived from it
  • Device type, operating system version, language, and app version
  • Ad interaction data, such as which ad was shown, whether it was tapped, and how much of a video ad was watched

Your drink log, goal, body measurements, and badges are never passed to Google or to any advertiser. They are not used to target ads.

Where ads appear

  • A banner near the top of the Progress screen.
  • Native ads at the foot of the Progress and Settings screens, and between the Levels and Badges sections on the Awards screen.
  • Rewarded ads, which are always optional and only ever play when you tap "Watch an ad" yourself. Nothing in the App is locked behind watching one.

Your choices

Ad data is collected and processed by Google under its own privacy policy. We do not receive, store, or have any access to it — we only see anonymous, aggregated earnings totals. You can control personalised advertising in these ways:

  • On your device, open Settings › Privacy › Ads to reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation.
  • If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent choices before personalised ads are shown, and you can change them at any time.

You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Permissions

Notifications — to remind you to drink. Optional.

Run at startup — so your reminders survive a restart and are not silently lost after a reboot.

Internet — to load advertisements. The App does not send your data anywhere over this connection.

Vibration — for reminder alerts, subject to your own notification settings.

The App does not request access to your contacts, photos, messages, camera, microphone, or location.

9. Children's Privacy

Water Tracker is a general-audience health and fitness app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because we do not collect personal information at all. Because the App shows advertising, parents and guardians should supervise use by younger users.

10. Data Retention & Your Control

Because we do not store your data on any server, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side, and no data export to request. Everything the App creates lives on your device and is fully under your control. Uninstalling the App removes all of it permanently — there is no cloud backup we hold, so please note that your history cannot be recovered afterwards.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Water Tracker after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
